Chicago is a wonderful city, and I am a city girl for sure.  Even traveling to the suburbs gives me a bit of the creeps!  The city sits on Lake Michigan, which is the size of a small ocean, and the Chicago River runs through it, with drawbridges that actually work and disrupt traffic at the most inopportune timse.  Come visit, and I'll give you the official tour.

Welcome to my neighborhood!

This is the very famous Buckingham Fountain.  It's in the opening credits of "Married With Children"

Maybe you can tell, but Illinois is FLAAAAAAAAAAAT!

This is the skyline at night, taken from the Planetarium which sits out in Lake Michigan.  It's quite stunning.

This is Millenium Park, designed by world -renowned architect Frank Gehry, and about 2 blocks from where I live.

I live in the "Loop", the commercial heart of the city, surrounded by trains and big buildings and about 4 blocks from the lakefront.

Brussels is pretty (in places) and not too big (probably even a bit small), but veeery international! It's fun, especially in the months of May to August - plenty of concerts, events, festivals!

Well, here is glorious Brisbane. Home to a couple of million people (I think we're up to 2 now  ;D)  Home to some of the most beautiful weather you'll see in the whole country. Its not a terribly "happening" town, Sydney is more exciting, as is Melbourne.  But its home to me and Ray ...  ;D

The Storey Bridge and Brisbane River.

River again. Some of the city skyline.

Another view of the bridge and skyline. As you can see, not a heck of a lot of town we got here.

River, skyline, hot air balloon.

And for good measure, a photo taken from my bedroom window.  Yes, my actual bedroom window.  :)
