Some scenes from Maine:

Nice view of the city of Portland, looking west. Notice all the red brick--two-thirds of the city burned down in 1866 and they didn't want that to happen again, hence the brick buildings..

Portland Head Light, commissioned by President George Washington. Once of the most photographed spots in the US.

Scenic coastal view

Penosbscot Bay, a little further downeast from Portland

Iconic lobster boat shot, had to have one of those!

Front-Ranger:
Great pics, Sheyne! Beautiful view! A few years ago, my company wanted to transfer me to Brisbane but I wouldn't go because they did not have ice hockey there  ::) No, actually the reason is because I could never leave the Rocky Mountains. I'll rustle up some photos of it soon...

slayers_creek_oth:
Salt Lake City - nice, safe and boring place...

At least its pretty....

This is the town that I work in...(the big building is the LDS Temple)

But here's my hometown...

Penthesilea:
I'm from Heidelberg, Germany. Heidelberg has about 140 000 inhabitants. Since 8 years I live 40 kilometers away from Heidelberg, in a rural area called Palatinate.

This is the famous Heidelberger Schloss (Heidelberg Castel):

Antoher view with castle and pittoresque Old Town. The River is called Neckar:

Palatinate is a rural area in south-west Germany with a low mountain range called "Pfälzerwald" (=forest of Palatinate). It's a well-known winegrowing area. So here's a picture from a vineyard:

The following are pictures from the village I live now. It has 2000 inhabitants.
The first is the view I enjoy every day when walking my dog. Plenty of market gardening here, especially onions. Often you can smell the onions throughout the whole village.

Another view of the surrounding nature. My dog likes to take a bath here:

And a last one from the village itself. As I said: very rural

serious crayons:
I want to move to all of the places on this thread.
