Gift of Exile - first fanfic
Marge_Innavera:
I've received mail asking if this fic is still in progress, and it definitely is! The latest chapter was just a bear to write -- it was my first attempt at chitchat dialogue with several people involved, and was a lot harder than I'd thought. That and some personal things that needed, and still need, my attention resulted in it taking forever to write.
The next chapters are partially written, and in fact there are drafts for several later chapters so the next updates shouldn't take as long. This one was long enough that LiveJournal made me divide it into two parts. For people who've been asking if Ennis' and David's relationship is ever going to progress, that starts with the next chapter. This one introduces a number of characters who will appear again later -- some in only a scene or two -- as well as some of the conflicts that are going to come up.
I'll be posting pictures on my blog from here on out, but that probably won't be till tomorrow.

I reread then entire story so far over the past few nights. It really flows well and feels very organic. Nothing seems forced, Ennis's and David's relationship is developing at it's own pace and seems very natural. I'm looking forward to when they finally..... ;D.
Marge_Innavera:
That won't be long -- within the next two chapters, part of which is already written -- though there'll be a last-minute snag and some revelations (in the story, that is! ;) ). If you haven't seen them already, there are photos of Grandma's Saloon in my blog -- it's somewhat important to local history as a de facto community center. That often happens with redevelopment in urban neighborhoods; in Atlanta, it was a place called Manuel's Tavern.
Thanks for reading!

I hope all is well. I just wanted to let you know that I still look forward with anticipation to your next update.
