ZouBEini:
David, he's beautiful!  He looks like Vickie's Dakotah who we lost a few years ago.  I'll bet he's a happy loveable dog.  : )

Oh and the mums look nice too!  I love late summer and fall when they are in bloom everywhere.

~Larz

GG:
David-
Beautiful dog. I think that breed is the most faithful of all. When you get them as pups they are so adorable. You'll have a great friend in him.

dly64:
I love your baby! I'll have to post a picture of Asta (after he gets groomed. He is looking like a powder puff right now).

When you were talking about lyrics ... do you remember this song?

"Indiana Wants Me"

(As recorded by R. Dean Taylor)

Mmmm, mmmm

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
I wish I had you, to talk to

If a man ever needed dyin' he did
No one had the right to say what he said about you
And it's so cold and lonely here without you
Out there the laws are coming
I'm scared and so tired of running

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
I wish I had you, to talk to

It hurts to see the man that I've become
And to know I'll never see the morning sunshine on the land
I'll never see your smiling face, or touch your hand
If just once more I could see
You, our home, and our little baby

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there, oh

I wish I had you, to talk to

I hope this letter finds its way to you
Forgive me love for the shame I put you through
And all the tears
Hang on love to the memories of those happy years
Red lights are flashin' around me
Yea love it looks like they found me

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
I wish I had you, to talk to

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
("This is the police, you are surrounded, give yourself up")
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
("This is the police, give yourself up, you are surrounded")

I'm sorry ... that song cracks me up!!!!

Lynne:
Great pictures of Cody, David!!  What a sweetie!  I remember you telling me about him the very first time we chatted on here!

Thank you for your *thank you* earlier, but not necessary.  It's for my own personal growth as much as for you and yours. ;)  Actually - that's divisive, isn't it?  It's for all of us in our many varieties.

Those were some sobering stories about your friends' rights during medical crises, estate planning, and about you actually losing your job!  Sadly, I'm afraid it's all too common in the world right now.

I wore my 'What're you waitin' for, cowboy, a matin' call?' shirt on the plane Friday (courtesy of our own newyearsday/Jenny), which I found wonderful for starting conversations.  I got several grins and a raised eyebrow... which led me to ask if they got the reference...when they said 'No'...I got to launch into my favorite subject.  :P

The 'sending up a prayer of thanks' shirt just doesn't generate the same response.  ;D

Maybe, one day, one mind at a time, we'll be able to nudge (or wedge) them open.

David In Indy:
How many of you Hoosiers out there remember this guy?.......

His name was Sammy Terry and he scared the CRAP out of me when I was a kid.

He hosted a show every Friday night called "Nightmare Theater". I use to sneak out of my bed every Friday night at 11:00 just to watch him. I don't know why. Like I said, he scared the crap out of me. Nightmare Theater would feature two horror movies (movies like Dracula or the Mummy) each week. Sammy Terry had a pet rubber spider named George.

I would crawl out of my bed, sneak downstairs and watch Nightmare Theater. Of course in those days, it was broadcast in black and white. Years later, I took violin lessons at Family Music Center at 46th and Shadeland, and Sammy Terry owned the store! His real name was Bob Carter.
