On the way to the Dragon Boat Festival, I listened first to Wallace Shawn (son of the New Yorker editor WIlliam Shawn) talk about his latest Broadway play and his schizophrenic career which is coming to an end, and then to a discussion of Verlyn Klinkenborg's rural essays in The New York Times, and suddenly all seemed right with the world after I had woken all despairing and verklempt after reviewing my fiasco of a Friday.
