Fantastic!
Make sure he's prepared that he may have a reaction to the second shot. I know a number of people who did.

Yes, I've heard,/read that couple of times, too. That people have more of a reaction to the second shot, compared to the first. But today there's an article in my newspaper's science section stating the opposite: more people get a reaction to the first shot, rather than the second.

Now there's a new one-shot vaccine from Johnson & Johnson. I think it just came out last week.
It's amazing how all these different companies were able to develop vaccines within a year. I assume they all have at least slightly different ingredients. Of course, there's a lot on the line, so I imagine they devoted a lot of resources to the search.
But it could so easily have gone the other way (which, I suppose, it still might). After all, there's the old "they can't cure the common cold" saying and the cold is a virus, too.

There are differences between the vaccines. I think there are 2 major types but reading the online information makes my eyes glaze over. I will not have a choice anyway and will need to trust our health professionals. However the sooner the better for me.
Here they started vaccinating border workers 10 days ago but say the general population will be in the 2nd half of the year.
However, despite our good record, we have idiots. There were a few cases at a high school early last week and the school was closed, students and their families tested and told to isolate. Most co-operated. One student worked a shift at KFC and then tested positive so the KFC was closed, all customers that day and families told to isolate but no effect on the city as a whole.
However one 21 year old from one of the school families had symptoms on Tuesday went to college, gym, fast food etc and finally went to the GP on Friday for a test then went to the gym on the way home (everyone with brains knows that you get tested then go home and isolate until the result). On Saturday found to be positive and now the whole city of Auckland (nearly 2 million people) is in lockdown, only essential services and not allowed to travel.

Just wanted to give a new update on Chris.
He was supposed to go to the doctor on Friday, but that got cancelled due to the weather. However, the doctor had told Chris that he was doing well, and his plan was to take Chris off of the oxygen tanks during the day, and have him just use them at night.
Since Chris new that was going to happen, he decided to do it on his own anyway. He stopped using oxygen during the day starting Friday, and used his oximeter to monitor his oxygen levels. He was able to spend all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday off the machine, and use it only at night while sleeping.

Just wanted to give what should be the last update on Chris. He's only been using the machine at night, and goes all day without it.
He got his paperwork from his doctor, and was cleared to go back to work, and has been back on the job since Monday of last week.
