They tried to fool us with August along with May and March.  But all three have other meanings.  August can also mean "respectful and impressive".  In this case it's pronounced with the accent on "gust". 

I'm reminded of high school English, where we were taught Wallace Stevens' poem:  "Reality is an activity of the most august imagination."
