Four reasons you should go see "Casino Royale"

Ah, but James drinks vodka martinis. :)
starboardlight:
sure enough. i have no idea if one can bruise vodka. the dilution issue still applies though, i think. not that I'm such a sophisticated drinker to actually be able to tell the difference.
Lumière:
another pic interlude? 8)
Meryl:
I finally saw this movie last night! Loved it! 8)
I agree the opening credits were super. I don't think anyone has mentioned the music, and I thought that added so much, all through the movie. Sexy, swaggering, brass-heavy--it took me back to the Connery Bond movies. And because Daniel Craig is so believably dangerous and such a worthy protagonist, it didn't seem to be trying to lend substance to a hero that wasn't delivering it.
I think Barb mentioned this--what I like most about Daniel Craig is his brutal quality, which I think was the secret of Sean Connery's Bond. He had a cruel look that made you fear and respect him as one who needed to kill as part of his job. As handsome as he is, Craig's face and eyes remind me of nothing so much as a copperhead snake, deadly and utterly ready to strike. The more debonair Bonds fade into the woodwork in comparison.
There did seem to be about three endings, making the movie seem longer than it actually was, and I'm also with those who didn't quite buy the love story. The action sequences were really well done, taut and exciting. I had a "bleah" moment when I noticed "Crash's" Paul Haggis is one of the screenwriters. Guess I'll have to get over that. >:(
I read a number of the Ian Fleming novels in the sixites and remember that scene where they take the bottom out of the chair to torture Bond. Little did I know I'd see it done on film so effectively. Wow! :P
It's been a long time since I've seen an action movie that delivered like this. How great to see some juice back in the old genre! 8)
Lumière:
