Well - no opinion on a "honeymoon" destination  :) , but . . .

Interesting point about Ennis not accepting gifts  . . . . perhaps I've misinterpreted, but I thought this line from a couple of chapters ago was quite a significant shift in Ennis and his comfort level with Ellery's money:

"Now I got this ring on my finger it’s kind a stupid a me ta pretend that I’m livin some sort a separate life an got ta keep up thinkin I ain’t in it with a man who’s got a whole lot a money just dyin ta share it. "

So, who knows - maybe when that ol' truck of his is beyond repair he'll be ready for a brand, spanking new one! :)

Thanks - Marie

see, here is where Leslie and I don't see eye to eye.

She likes place things, with place doohickey history tie-ins.
And unless I've actually been there (like, say Cheyenne, Denver, MADRID), I don't do place doohickey tie-ins.

For what it's worth, I have been to the Broadmoor and had a massage in the spa. I can see our two favorite men enjoying the atmosphere very much!

a place doohickey tie-in is tying in the spa in Colorado springs with the Olympic ice skating trials that went on in 1984 etc.

I believe it would be my comment that the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs was the home of the (I believe) Colorado Figure Skating Club. Several Olympians have trained there over the years. The figure skating hall of fame is in Colorado Springs, too.

What does any of this have to do with Ennis and Ellery? Well, in "The Prestige," Robert Angier, played by Hugh Jackman, had an extended stay at the Broadmoor.

http://louisev.livejournal.com/182942.html  "48. Jeremy."

which, if I have properly estimated, is the penultimate, or semipenultimate chapter of this fic.

 :'( :'( :'( Is it ending tomorrow then?  :'( :'( :'( Wah!

Oh, well. At least it looks like it will end well and not on a brokenhearted note. And with, um, 'short' story that was announced, we really can't say there's anything short about almost 50 chapters... Wah. Still. I hope we 'see' Nick and Jeremy after Dupree's Choice ends again some time- at the reception and perhaps as part of Jeeves's story.
