I was just looking at the Jake Jake Jake! thread (as usual), my son came walking by, saw the photo of Jake wearing the Ramona shirt on SNL and goes, "Look!  It's Donnie Darko!"  He hasn't watched the movie, but he's seen the cover to the DVD a couple of times and asked me who "that guy" on it was.  Kid's got the memory of an elephant.  Guess I'd better watch what else I say in front of him...

He said on SNL that Brokeback opened up a new fanbase for him.

Yup, I was well aware of Jake and Heath as fine actors with serious potential long before Brokeback.  That said though I do think Brokeback made some critics and the powers that be sit up and take notice instead of writing them off as pretty boy leads only fit for light romantic comedy and not much else.
