I always wondered about those lyrics, even though I have the album! I just never could quite grasp them. Thank you very much for writing this down, Scott.

Anyone mentioned this one?

You Do something To Me - Paul Weller

You do something to me - something deep inside
I'm hanging on the wire - for a love i'll never find
You do something wonderful - then chase it all away
Mixing my emotions - that throws me back again
Hanging on the wire, i'm waiting for the change
I'm dancing through the fire, just to catch a flame -
An' feel real again

You do something to me - somewhere deep inside
I'm hoping to get close to - a peace i cannot find -

Dancing through the fire - just to catch a flame
Just to get close to, just close enough -
To tell you that.....

You do something to me - something deep inside.
Will you stop playing with that radio of yours, I'm trying to get to sleep!

I hope I'm not repeating one that's already been posted.

To Where You Are
by Josh Groban
Who can say for certain
Maybe you’re still here
I feel you all around me
Your memory’s so clear
Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You’re still an inspiration
Can it be that you are my forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight to see you smile
If only for a while, to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn’t faith believing
All power can’t be seen
As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me, every day
‘Cause you are my forever love
Watching me from up above
And I believe that angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight to see you smile
If only for a while, to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

I know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Actually, just about anything by Josh Groban reminds me of Brokeback Mountain. You can hear several of his songs, including this one, on his website.
www.joshgroban.com
Why do we consume what we consume?
Why do we believe what we believe?
Why do we accept what we accept?
You have a body, a mind, and a soul.... You have a responsibility.

Oh, my goodness.  I just heard this on the radio on my way home from the gym tonight, and I do believe it's my new favorite song.

Chasing Cars ~ Snow Patrol

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

That third to last verse made me spontaneously put my hand to my heart right at the words "Is here in your perfect eyes..."

Wow.  Lovely and amazing.

Isn't it great, it was already posted here a while back and I looked it up on itunes and now I am hooked on it too, this is one of the most perfect Ennis and Jack songs... sooo sad and so beautiful...

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough ....

That part about made me gasp, too.  I guess I haven't been listening to the radio much these days.  All the jibber jabber just annoys me too much.  So mostly I listen to my iPod (which this is now on) or my CDs.  I'm so glad I happened to catch this last night - I'd never heard it before and might have missed it.

I also love this:

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

I think of it from Jack's point of view, mostly - but that part right there resonates with both of them.
No more beans!

It's such a sad song isn't it? It is sung very lazily and sweetly...Yeah, I never listen to the radio either, the radio programs in Holland are more talk than music and I am just addicted to my iPod, and this song is also on mine!  :)

Glad some others have discovered this song too!

I love the lead singer's voice - it's very expressive. Check out 'Chocolate'  and 'Spitting Games' from the album 'Final Straw' to see how versatile his voice is.

You posted it here a while back, didn't you? Thanks again...  ;)

Here's another one from a KD Lang album - Simple

Flawless light in a darkening air
Alone...and shining there
Love will not elude you

Love is simple
I worship this tenacity
And the beautiful struggle we’re in
Love will not elude us

Love is simple
Be sure to know that

All in love
Is ours
And love, as a philosophy
Is simple

I am calm in oblivion
Calm, as I ever have been
Love will not elude me
Love is simple
Be sure to know that
All in love
Is ours...
Is ours...

That all in love
Is ours
And love, as philosophy
Is simple...
And ours...

Ooh.  I'll have to check that out.  When he was singing "All that I am, all that I ever was...," I couldn't wait to hear what the answer was because he was expressing so much in those words.  And then when he sang "Is here in your perfect eyes" I about crashed my car.  So lovely.
