Greetings, friends and fellow travellers--
This post is especially for the eyes of any of our members/visitors who might be in the Syracuse, New York area tomorrow (Thursday, May 3rd). Our very own Melinda (some might know her better as Sashca1007) will be there then to attend a DVD-projection of the 1975 film
Thundercrack!, in which she appeared back in her acting days, and which was conceived and directed by her late brother Curt McDowell, and to be available for a question-and-answer session after the show (Melinda, who is now the legal owner of this film, has given me permission to post this information here).
The show is scheduled for The Palace Movie Theater in Syracuse (2384 James St. [Eastwood]), at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. Admission is $7.00 at the door, with college-student discounts available, and advance online tickets also at a discount rate. Please consult the following link for more information (click on the 'Thundercrack' logo for more details):

Please be advised that no one under the age of eighteen will be admitted, due to graphic sexual content. I have seen this cult classic myself (on video transfer), and think it is a fun and unique movie, but I recommend it only to those who are open-minded in regard to explicit depictions of sexuality and nudity. But for those who dare to seek it out, you will be treated to some of the zaniest and most poetic dialogue ever penned for a film (courtesy of George Kuchar, who also appears in the film as Bing), the rapturous sight of the beautiful Melinda McDowell (playing Sash), some lovely and evocative black-and-white cinematography, and a stunning star performance by Marion Eaton as Mrs. Gert Hammond. Eaton reveals herself as one of the greatest actresses to have appeared before a movie camera, and conveys depths and nuances of emotion very rarely encountered in the genre of erotic film.
The 'Thundercrack' icon at the site will also guide the interested to the film's original trailer. The actress pictured in the clickable icon is Moira Benson, playing Roo in the film. Enjoy!
