John, are you still a member at NYU. Apparently Jake is back in town, and TONIGHT October 20 th at 7 PM the University will have a screening of Love and other drugs and afterwards Jake and ED Zwick will answer questions. From what I have read this is the address, 'Regal E-Walk, 247 West 42nd Street'. For the moment I wished that I lived in New York!!

I did get an email about the screening (though I can't remember WHY) but because I had a conflict I regretfully let it go--then my brain buried it out of spite, and I just FORGOT. Duh. Oh well. The tickets were not cheap, by the way--one had to buy one of two series of films through the festival, between $200 and $350, something like that. Actually, as I have a current FIT ID card, I could have gotten a student pass ticket for one screening for $75. Now I really AM regretting. Sigh.

UPDATE: Jake and Taylor also attended the SNL broadcast together on Saturday, People  reports.

"They showed up together," a source told the magazine. "They walked around together backstage, but they were careful not to be seen too close. It was hard to tell if they were together, but everyone was shocked that she brought him."


PREVIOUSLY: Are Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal dating? They spent Sunday strolling Brooklyn hand-in-hand, Life & Style reports. Taylor recently wrote a song that seemed to be about John Mayer breaking her heart.

Taylor Swift definitely has a taste for older men! The 20-year-old country songbird has a new man in her life: 29-year-old actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Life & Style 's Scene Queens can report exclusively. The two were spotted looking cozy in Brooklyn, N.Y., yesterday. "Taylor and Jake were walking around Park Slope holding hands," an eyewitness tells the Scene Queens. "They looked like a couple!"



Taylor's date with Jake comes on the heels of recent reports that the singer had been romantically entangled with 33-year-old rocker John Mayer. Jake's most recent relationship was with actress Reese Witherspoon; the two split 10 months ago.

I really hope that rumor about Taylor and Jake isn't true.  I agree that is a very weird rumor.

Even though Swift is 20, she seems much younger to me.  Somehow it always feels really inappropriate / creepy to me when these rumors about her and older men start swirling.

apparently she is also famous for writing songs about her ex. lovers. So in my mind I can allready hear a country song with the lyrics JJJJAAAAKKKEEE WWWHHHYYY??? did you leave me

Jake Gyllenhaal says his new film owes a lot to Brokeback Mountain

Jake Gyllenhaal has said his new film Love And Other Drugs is the "child" of the Oscar-winning Brokeback Mountain.

Jake stars opposite his Brokeback co-star Anne Hathaway in the new movie based on James Reidy's best-selling autobiography, Hard Sell: The Evolution Of A Viagra Salesman, and says he owes a lot to Ang Lee's award-winning gay cowboy love story.

Jake told Esquire magazine: "This movie that Annie and I made was spawned from that. Love And Other Drugs is the child of Brokeback Mountain. It really is. That's how it feels to me."

He went on: "We struck gold with that film. That movie continues to last, and a large part of that has to do with how extraordinary Heath Ledger was, and what an extraordinary force he was as an actor. If he were still alive everybody would be clamouring to work with him. I just feel honoured to have worked with him and to have called him a friend."

He also said he was "desperate" to work with Michelle Williams again.

On his career, the brooding Jarhead star said: "I like to go after things that maybe are a little bit less what people would expect from me. Love And Other Drugs feels like a turning point for me."
