Netflix is due to deliver my rental copy of 'The Patriot' for this weekend's viewing.

if enough people are interested we can open a chat room for discussion of the film on Saturday afternoon.

Coming up March 9 (a week from Saturday) will be the hit movie 'A Knight's Tale' starring Heath with Paul Bettany, dancing, fighting and jousting!

Yes it will.  We are proceeding in chronological order, more or less!

Well there has been a Heath film programmed here on tv once a week it seems. I don't know if it's deliberate or not. It's not always on the same channel.

Last week it was The Order, or The Sin Eater as it was called apparently. Because I didn't recognise the name, i completely missed it. My husband came across it while flipping channels. 'There's Ennis' he said!  ::)

I only watched a couple of minutes of it and i have to say it was pretty awful!

But next Saturday it's The Brothers Grimm. I've already seen that one and i quite liked it. I'll definitely record this one.

I'll try to get ahold of The Patriot. That one wasn't bad either. Heath was good in it.

Saturday March 1 - at 2 p.m. Eastern time, we will be simultaneously viewing 'The Patriot' on our own DVDs.  By request we will have a chat room open for the film starting at that time.

Everyone welcome - and remember, if you can't view at that time, or have already seen it, it's all good, please feel free to jump in to the discussion!

I am planning to watch The Patriot sometime before Sunday morning (I have to go out of town Sun. and Mon.)... but I'm not exactly sure when.  I just wanted to share some thoughts on the movie before I watch it again.  I hope no one minds if I start discussing 'early.'

Mild spoilers....

I first saw this movie way before I was Heathen.  Overall, I thought it was a very good movie.  But I remember being shocked at how incredibly violent and horrific it was in parts.  Did anyone else feel this way?  Does anyone know if there is historical accuracy regarding what happened to the people in the church?

Benjamin Martin is loosely based on Francis "Swamp Fox" Marion -- SC militia leader who engaged in guerilla warfare. He and his men knew the terrain so well that it was hard to find them after their initial attack/ambush -- they'd disappear into the swamps or forests, etc.

The colonial militia knowing their own "lay of the land" is one reason given for the colonial victory over a much more well equipped British military. The French helped a lot too.  ;)

Well I am out running errands before going out of town tomorrow, so may not be in chat at all...

But we can still talk about the movie.

Who knew the oil change place would have wireless internet??

I have The Patriot ready here with me. I got it in the library.

But now The Brothers Grimm is on tv tonight and I haven't got that one on dvd. I'm going to record it. I'll have to watch The Patriot tomorrow maybe.

I need an extra tv! LOL
