Brokeback Mountain Poster & 2007 Brokeback Mountain Calendar
« on: November 08, 2006, 10:42:11 am »
Gotcha!  These two gems arrived yesterday from my order at amazon.com.  The colors are granier than I would have liked but just think...  How many movies released in 2005 have 2007 calendars?  The calendar is 12" x 12" and consist mostly of shots that I have never seen before.  Unfortunately, two of the shots that are commonplace around the web appear washed out.  The 'night after' shot "I ain't queer - Me neither" shot and one of them both standing up against Jack's truck (not in the movie).  Still, it's great to have them both!  I could post some of the months if Phillip says it is OK.  I don't want to get anyone in trouble.   But here's the cover!
Lean on me, let our hearts beat in time,
Feel strength from the hands that have held you so long.
Who cares where we go on this rugged old road
In a world that may say that we're wrong.

...Cause I know - A love that will never grow old.

Congrats!  I got the calendar but not the poster.

Now that I've got the poster up I wish I had the money to have it framed properly.  It's really shiny and the putty that's holding it to my bedroom door shows creases.  The only other movie that I bought a poster for is "The Wizard of Oz."  These two films just about frame my life.

Seriously folks, if you get the poster, get it framed.  You won't regret it.

I got the poster too, I begged the guy from the video store to give the poster to me as soon as he took it down. He had it framed in the store, so it was still beautiful when I came to pick it up, I now have it framed in a very simple frame and it looks beautiful. It doesn't need a fancy frame, it's beautiful as it is!

And so BIG!  I am used to seeing a downloaded .jpg along with the other 4 hundred something stills from the film that I often use as a screensaver. It's just so GOOD to have it 3 feet high and 2 feet wide!

It feels very comforting to have it around!  ;)

I have to admit I have three posters:

The small 11"x17" poster framed.

The large double-sided one sheet also simply framed.

And the special 4ftx6ft bus shelter poster that is heavy vinyl, also double-sided with wooden dowels at the top and bottom.  Nearly impossible to frame, but hangs nicely by itself, especially with high ceilings.

I also hung it out the window for our little Boston Brokie party in September: there's a photo on the Social events thread.

Makes me very happy to see it/them.

Hey Paul-

I love your avatar, do you have a large version of it? And is that really little Jake? Which movie?

Hi Melissa,

Belated happy birthday!

I swiped got my avatar from the "JakeJakeJake" thread.  I'm sure you could find it, if you don't mind slogging through all those tedious pages of Jake pics.

Little dozy Jake I swiped borrowed from someone on Livejournal.  It's actually 10-year-old Jake in "City Slickers" where he played Billy Crystal's son.  He's not actually dozing:  in the scene his father is embarrassing him in class on a "what does your father do" career day.

I agreed that a poster should be framed.  I got my Star Wars and LOTR poster framed but still looking for a BBM poster.  Who in Amazon.com did you get your poster from Br. Patrick?
