I would like to suggest this version of Will You Still Love me Tomorrow by Amy Winehouse. I heard it last night and still have it on my mind.

She does have a great voice and I do love that song. I hope she gets herself straightened out since at the rate she is going she may not be around long. The song does remind me of BBM.

Hi all,

I'm gonna go out on a wee limb here and suggest "Hallelujah" by k.d. lang.  I mention this because every time I hear it, I think of Ennis.

------------------------------------------

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
You don't really care for music, do ya?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Baby iv'e been here before,
Iv'e seen this room and ive walked the floor,
I used to live alone before i knew ya
But ive seen your flag on the marble arch,
Our love is not a victory march,
It's a cold and its a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above,
But all iv'e ever learnt from love,
Is how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya,
It's not a cry that u hear at night,
It's not someone whos seen the light,
It's a cold and broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah
-----------------------------

(I'm not prompting discussion on religion, I simply love the song).

That's beautiful, Sandy.

I have been listening to the soundtrack of The Motorcycle Diaries, also composed by Santaolalla, and I have been having fun playing a "what-if" game. What if this was the soundtrack to BBM? I'm almost scared to see the movie Motorcycle Diaries now, because I associate the music with scenes from BBM!!!

I haven't seen The Motorcycle Diaries or heard the soundtrack, but I am going to the city centre this weekend, so will have a look out!

I love this song too.  A lot of people have recorded it.  I'm partial to the Jeff Buckley version.  But it says "she" and "her" too.  As long as BBM Radio is sticking with only masculine pronouns, I don't think this song will get played.

Hi Ellemeno

I never even noticed that, thank you for pointing it out.  For me, the final verse is so poignant, and the music is just superb.

Another movie soundtrack that reminds me of Brokeback Mountain is The Last of the Mohicans. But some of the songs are a little over the top. They're all instrumental.

Another instrumental that always makes me think of Ennis is "Emperor of Wyoming" by Neil Young.

What are the chances of getting Heath's version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" from "10 Things I Hate About You" in rotation on the station?  I think the lyrics are appropriate, even if the style isn't.  It's short, and I think it would be a nice tribute to and a joyful reminder of him.  I have a so-so quality MP3 of it that I'm happy to share.

Excellent idea.  I've always loved this snippet of Heath in song,  another way to appreciate that magnificent voice.
