Hey Louise, are you in the UK too!  This flippin' rain just won't go away!  I'm off to Cornwall next week, I'm half expecting our caravan to float off into the sea!!

Susie

I thought y'all were used to that!
Rain and fog and all!  ;D

Har har!!  We do enjoy our regular summer picnics of soggy sandwiches and wet bums!  But this is bonkers .... the UK is about to sink into the ocean .. never to be seen again!!  We're getting flash floods and I saw a picture of Tewkesbury this morning ... it's under water, just the roof tops popping out!  And you wait ... when this is all finally over, there'll be drought warnings and a hosepipe ban!

It's really rather scary!!

Susie

Are you being affected by all those floods too Susie? I saw some reports about it on CNN and MSNBC. It looks awful! It reminds me of the pictures from Hurricane Katrina a couple of years ago.  :(

Sorry Susie!

I hope you and yours are ok!
It looks really bad over there.
Hopefully the rains will stop and the water will receed soon!  :-* :-*

No worries Loneleeb! We're all fine thanks .... and it just gives us another excuse to talk about the weather .... you know how much we Brits love to do that!!

It'll all clear up by Friday and by Sunday morning it'll be glorious sun shine ... just in time for the beach!

Susie
Yes, i know how you Brits are! LOL
My mom was raised near Harragut? And my grandparents on my Dads side are Scottish. My Grandmother came over here in 1927 and my Grandfathers family a generation before that.
So I have some idea! LOL
Well, Here's hoping
it'll all be over soon and just in time to go to the beach.
Whats the water like there at the beach anyway. Here it's in the 80's ( I think that would be the 20's in Celsius)

Beautiful pictures, Susie. Thanks!

I laughed when I read "hosepipe ban." When I was in England for the first time ever (1995) they were in the midst of a terrible drought and all I heard about on the radio were the hosepipe bans. It took me a while to figure out they meant no one could use their garden hose to water the lawn or wash the car or whatever.

Thanks L, I was about to ask...  :)

Really beautiful pictures, Susie.  Looks like a place that would also be beautiful in the rain (a different kind of beautiful).  I live in Washington State where our beautiful, rugged coastline is often rainy.

yes Susie how did you know?  And are they going to equip caravans with water skis to keep them afloat?

Where do you usually reside? I am in Wiltshire/North Gloucestershire borderland, in a little village called Marshfield.  I work in Corsham, which is just outside of Bath.

Well, My mum, sister and nieces are down staying with my aunt in Minsterworth, Gloucester - about 10-15 miles from Tewksbury. The house is right next to the Severn and last night there was only 30cm before the banks burst - they were stockpiling water in the bath and getting in candles and food supplies. But this morning I got a text to say there is glorious sunshine and the water is draining slightly so good news!

Let's see, I guess I need some sort of England connection to come to the party. How about, my ancestors are from Islip, which is near Cambridge. They came to the US (then, the colonies) in 1664.

Meanwhile, it is 63 degrees here, still a bit foggy but the weather report promises clearing this afternoon.
