How to contribute to sending flowers/condolences to Australia
Lumière:
I wish to express thanks to you Meryl for bringing your organizational skills to the table and for gathering these donations...
You can count me in as well...
Hugs,
~M
SFEnnisSF:
Count me in for everything. Wording is great with "our". 2nd picture. Donation on its way. :)
Penthesilea:
Done.
Thank you Meryl for organizing this :-*
--- Quote ---From Meryl:
As for waiting til later or writing to the family around his birthday, I have some reservation about it. I feel it's best to be included in the natural wave of condolences as everyone joins in an outpouring of grief and sympathy. I feel sure the family will see the notice. Someone will be looking to save all the notices for them, even if they are too distracted. (Personally, I'm not sure whether writing to them on his birthday might not be more distressing than comforting. We can discuss this as the time draws closer.)
--- End quote ---
Fully agreed.
I already told you how I feel about the text. It's beautiful. I also agree about using the second picture.
Thank you again.
Meryl:
Friends, you're all the greatest. :-*
Just to keep you in the loop, I've received seven donations so far, averaging $20 each. One thing I should mention is that there is a small fee deducted by PayPal, so you could add one or two dollars to offset this if you'd like.
I don't know what the total cost would be, but I'm guessing maybe in the area of $500, depending on how expensive an ad would be. Will let you know when I hear from my friend.
MaineWriter:
I believe the paypal fee is 3%.
