Hey there Chuck. Shasta and Kelda! Somebody looked in my blog, huh?!!
I hardly ever look in here anymore. I should start posting in it again.
I have been very busy with my Dad. He isn't doing so well. He's been falling quite a bit. We had to make an emergency run down to the VA Hospital a couple of days ago. He knocked on my door at 3 in the morning and said he wanted to go down there. He was having problems peeing. It turns out some tissue had grown in there and was completely pinching off the flow of urine. They had to take several different wires and stick them in there to re-open it. Dad said they POUNDED them in there. I heard the doctor say "You won't like me very much in a few minutes" and I got my ass up and headed out to the waiting room. I knew it was going to be bad.
Anyway, they have a catheter in him now. He has an appointment next week with the urologist and they will decide whether or not to take out the catheter or leave it in a bit longer. He's very uncomfortable right now and it is still hurting him. We were at the hospital for 6 hours that night - three of them spent waiting for the urologist to arrive.
He told me earlier he may want to go down there again tonight because the catheter is hurting him. I'm positive they won't be able to do anything for him though. They will just tell him that it is bound to hurt for a few days and to be patient. But he will probably want to go down there and hear it for himself.
Also his tail bone has been hurting him. He went out for dinner with some friends Monday evening and he fell off a stool. This happened just hours before the hospital run at 3 am. Anyway, it is incredibly stressful atm, but we'll get through it I'm sure! Dad fought in Korea, earned three purple hearts and a bronze star for what he did over there, so he'll make it through this as well. But he's going downhill fast. I'd have to be blind not to notice it, and I worry how much longer he'll be with us.
