Comic-Con 2012:
'Man of Steel' footage and 
Superman Henry Cavill soar 
into San Diego

The packed audience at 
Warner Bros. and 
Legendary Entertainment's Saturday (July 14) panel at 
Comic-Con was already flying high after sneak peeks at upcoming films 
"Pacific Rim" and 
"Godzilla," so director 
Zack Snyder's presentation of new 
"Man of Steel" footage sent fans through the roof.
The movie's star 
Henry Cavill also made a surprise appearance, telling the audience, "It's a dream come true" to play 
Superman. 
The clip screened at the panel shows only flashes of the film, including images of a young 
Clark Kent and Cavill in full Superman attire, as well as 
Amy Adams as 
Lois Lane and 
Russell Crowe as 
Jor'El. We also see a shirtless Clark Kent on fire and Superman crashing into a bank vault.
Snyder tells fans that "Man of Steel" will show a more relatable Superman than previous iterations, which he says depicted the superhero as "a big blue Boy Scout up on the throne."
