I had a similar experience with Connections today. I figured out the purple on my own, but even after I saw the solution to the blue it barely made sense. I feel like I keep up with what's going on in movies, I've seen a few M. Night Shyamalan films and I'd never heard of any of those. "Glass" sounds a lot like "Unbreakable."

That's because they contain common consonants. That's my strategy, too. (I don't really worry about vowels.)

Those are pretty much my feelings. I get all excited to do it -- partly because I like working with the meaning of words more than the spelling -- but then once I'm doing it I wonder why I looked forward to it.

That said, even if I'm not able to identify all the categories while playing, I'm almost always able to recognize them once I see the answer, even if they're slang or the names of American TV shows. I can totally understand why you wouldn't have heard of those M. Night Shyamalan movies, Sonja -- especially because in this case even I hadn't!
