Ohh yes, indeed there is a story to sour skittles. Many people already know it, so feel free to skip.

On the road trip in '08 I sat in a car with Chuckie. I was curious about what he nibbled on and he handed me some sour skittles. Without thinking I put a small handful of them in my mouth at once.

 
 
 
 
 

There are not enough smileys in this world to express my horror. I thought I'd die on the spot!

I spat them into my hand and I guess I asked for a tissue or something. Chuckie - already laughing, the little devil - told me to just throw them out of the window and my reply was "No. Some wild animal will find and eat them. It will die right next to the road and everybody will think it's roadkill."

 

Sour skittles are the worst, most sour thing that exists in the whole world! You have no idea how sour they are, a lemon is nothing compared to skittles.

Gosh, Chuckie and I had such a big laugh about this. We still do today.

Sounds similar to people's reactions to the monkey candy in Alberta, then!

"Monkey candy" is Djungelvrål, salty licorice. Some people love it, others not so much....

I've had both. Monkey candy is ewww, but doesn't hold a candle to sour skittles.
