The Good Shepherd...that's what I think when looking at this image, and gazing upon Jack's (Jake's) gentle, beautiful face. Could this be another suggestion that Jack can be seen as a Jesus figure?

Aww, what a sweet photo! The lamb looks so peaceful and contented (who wouldn't be, in its position?).

I agree with you, Scott, about the Good Shepherd/Christ figure suggestion, but I got into that discussion a long time ago--Jack as the Christ figure who dies for Ennis's redemption--and I'm not sure I want to open that can of, er, beans again.

Did we see this one?  Do we care?

Heh, the comparison goes away quickly when Jack later wants to shoot one of 'his' flock.

oh wow, I've never seen that one before. It's beautiful. I'm a little overly emotional for some reason today and seeing that picture just made me tear up a little. wow. poor sweet beautiful jack....
‘cause the truth is, I already give him everythin’ I got to give, more than I ever even knew I had; ‘n it all for him, all of it, him who is my brother, my father, my child, my friend, my lover, my heart, my soul; my Ennis.
