Tracey is a one hit wonder here in the US, do any of you remember this one from 1984?  It peaked in the Billboard Top 10.

Oh, yes, "They Don't Know" is a favorite!

When her second album in the UK came out, I had wished this song had been released here in the US, I always thought it could've been a hit.

Um, not too catchy.  Nice dance sequence, though.

For me too! In fact, I've listened to it quite a few times lately -- can't remember what started me thinking of it.

I like the chimes!  Adds a certain faux grandeur!

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

How is everyone doing??

Hello everyone!

:)

Just got back from visiting mom.

Mom was discharged from the hospital late last night.  She is now set up in a rehab center.  I just got back from visiting her, it's a nice place!

She's already met her physical therapists, and had a 20 minute workout with them  today.  She said it went really well!

Hopefully, we'll have her home soon!

Happy to hear it!

Several times my dad went to a rehab facility after a lengthy hospitalization. It's amazing how quickly you can get deconditioned when you've spent a while in a hospital bed, especially for older folks.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

How is everyone doing??

I hope everyone had a good holiday!   I had a quiet one, just a nice evening at the apartment.  I had seen fireworks with friends the Friday before.

Just wanted to give the latest update on mom!

As of Friday morning, mom is 100% off of any oxygen.  She spends most of her time out of the bed, and in her wheelchair.

Dad has taken her outside in the courtyard on nice days, and they've started to play Rummy 500, mom has beaten him a number of times.

Physical therapists are pleased with her progress.

Wonderful to hear, friend! When she was in rehab, my mom had three therapists. Physical, speech, and I forget the other one. The speech therapist helped her with chewing and swallowing which she had a bit of a problem with. Maybe the third was occupational, helping her with activities of daily living.

I had a quiet Fourth of July too. I thought about the scene where Ennis confronted the biker thugs and stood as a monolith against the raging fireworks. What a dramatic scene that was!

I thought about that scene, too! And every Thanksgiving I think of those scenes. I think of them as international Brokie holidays.

I had a quiet 4th too, mostly because rain was in the forecast. So at least a few cities around here moved their fireworks to July 3, and I went up to the rooftop patio with some friends to look around the horizon and watch them. July 4 was mostly rain, but the sky cleared up late in the day so hopefully the cities that didn't reschedule were able to do theirs.

Friday was quiet, too. Today I actually have two possibilities but I was already committed to a birthday party here in my building, before I was invited to join a group at a Simon & Garfunkle tribute 20 miles away in a mostly rural area and I'd have to drive home with my untrustworthy car after dark. One of the best things about parties in my building is nobody has to drive.
