"P" is The Perfect Storm (2000)
« Reply #6162 on: October 19, 2010, 05:53:04 pm »

IMDB: In October 1991, a confluence of weather conditions combined to form a killer storm in the North Atlantic. Caught in the storm was the sword-fishing boat Andrea Gail. Magnificent foreshadowing and anticipation fill this true-life drama while minute details of the fishing boats, their gear and the weather are juxtaposed with the sea adventure.

Mark Wahlberg played Bobby Shatford

"S" is Sexy Beast (2000)
« Reply #6165 on: October 19, 2010, 08:39:02 pm »

What a great poster!

Gal, Deedee, Aitch and Jackie, having left behind respective lives of ill-repute, bask in the sun of Spain and in the most essential brand of leisure. A hazy yarn of barbecues, beer and botched hunting expeditions make up their retirements, until a sudden and unforeseen disruption emerges from their past. Enter the childishly violent and hilariously edgy Don Logan. Through a series of side-splitting negotiations and irrevocable acts, retired crook Gal is forced to shake off the rust and accept one last mission, put forth by the menacing Logan, his ex-mentor. A heist of legendary proportion and personal implications, this job should make for one hell of an encore.

Ray Winstone who was in Ripley's Game plays the hapless Gary 'Gal' Dove in this.

IMDb:  Perci Trachtenberg, widely regarded as the world's greatest living mathematician, meets Venkat, a reclusive math genius from India, at a high rolling casino in London. Venkat tells Perci about an equation that could not only change the dialogue on mathematics forever, but one that has already left an indelible impression of guilt - for many painful reasons - on Venkat's life.

Ben Kingsley, who starred in Sexy Beast, plays Perci in this film.

Re: "E" is Ernesto (1979)

Let's see how long it takes for the reactionary Photobucket to censor this one, lol!
EDIT:  Not even a day as it turns out.  I've replaced the "offending" image.

Evidently, that offending Ernesto image provoked a raid of my Photobucket account because a day later, over ten other of my images were censored.  Some had been sitting there for years unmolested.  Does anyone know an image hosting site that isn't based in the US?  That country is going out of control.

Anyway, I uploaded the offending images to Image Shack (for now, lol!) and posted them in my blog if any of you are interested in seeing what Photobucket frowns upon.

"V" is La vacanza (1971)
« Reply #6169 on: October 27, 2010, 12:40:39 am »

From IMDb:  Medieval drama in which [Vanessa] Redgrave plays an allegedly insane woman who is allowed to finally leave the madhouse to see if she is capable of functioning normally. Her parents pay no attention to her and eventually sell her to a creditor. En route she escapes and runs into a poacher. She explains her terrible situation via flashback. He feels sympathetic and so the two head off for many free-flowing adventures.

This film was directed by Tinto Brass, who also directed L'Uomo Che Guarda.
