IMDB: Elizabeth's heart is broken. For solace, she drops in late at night a few times at Jeremy's diner for blueberry pie a la mode; they talk. Once, he watchers her sleep, her head on the counter. Abruptly, she leaves New York City to get away from her pain. She works a couple of jobs in Memphis. There, a heart-broken cop is drinking himself into oblivion, his ex occasionally showing up where he drinks and Lizzy works. Then, she's in Nevada, working at a casino where she uses her savings (she wants a car) to stake Leslie, a busted gambler, in a high rollers' game. After, Beth drives Leslie to Vegas where Leslie's estranged father lives. Broken relationships. What about Jeremy?

Rachel Weisz who starred in The Whistleblower plays the part of Sue Lynne.

Another One Degree of Separation Round!

Each movie played must have something similar to the previous movie (one degree of separation). What they share is up to you. A character? Director? Location? When you play the movie, please highlight what is shared with its predecessor.

Unplayed movies, as always.

PS...Let's start with the ubiquitous James Franco and 127 Hours.

"A" is Annapolis (2006)
« Reply #6175 on: October 27, 2010, 11:39:23 pm »

IMDB: Jake Huard, from a shipbuilders family, promised his dying mother he'ld make it to Anapolis Naval Academy. Thanks to tenaciously bugging a Congressman, he's selected despite dubious grades. Once inside, Jake soon proves sub-standard academically. Constantly challenged to his limits, repeatedly made the 'over-cocky' reason for the entire class to suffer, Jake nearly quits, but after facing his utterly un-supportive father's gloating returns just in time. Stubborn Jake finds support withs mates as well as Senor Ali, his lover-to-be, and a discipline he may excel in: the 'brigade' boxing tournament, open to all ranks.

James Franco starred in 127 hours and Annapolis.

"B" is Bullfighter (2000)
« Reply #6176 on: October 28, 2010, 01:09:10 am »

From IMDb:  Jack is a wanderer whose aimless roaming leads him to a number of interesting locations and into the company of many interesting people, and, despite his fascination with bullfighting, he leads a largely peaceful existence. When a crime boss' daughter is accidentally gored to death, Jack is implicated in the unfortunate event and singled out for termination by a seemingly unending army of lethal hitmen. As Jack wages an uphill battle for survival against the harsh desert terrain and a hail of gunsmoke and lead, his will to live depends on his ability to exorcise his demons and come to terms with the fact that he may not live to see another sunrise.

Donnie Wahlberg appeared in Annapolis and in this film.
