She leaned against the street lamp and straightened her mini-skirt.  It was a chilly night for this time of year.  The bare skin on her arms and flat belly broke out in goosebumps as she hugged herself to keep warm.  She kept her eyes on the road, watching for drivers who might be interested in a little distraction before they went on their way.  Two hours had passed already, and she had only five dollars to show for it- thanks to the young man she had serviced in the back of his station wagon.  She had hoped to make a hundred bucks tonight, after all it was the holiday season and there were always folks in need of attention.  She leaned heavily against the lamp post and waited, trembling all the while...

            The girls in front
            The guys in back
            The music twirls
            The instruments
            Loud and  timpanetic
            The crowd is going
            down right frenetic
            Huraah huraah

                                                  NEXT

In the eerie shadows of the gothic castle,
voracious vampires lurk, thirsting for blood..
A waze away on a rocky hill by the dusty road,
a crouching man grips his chest, pain flashes in his eyes.
He looks up at the full, silver moon and screams,
his flesh tears and bleeds to reveal the grey wolf within...

Unity and strength for all of us.
                       We share the power, tenuous.

You are up, an I am down.
                        We are ever going round.

They say its safety in numbers
                        We will continue unemcumbered.

Rudi and Adrian from the german serialization (1982) of Thomas mann's Doktor Faustus. Rudi wants Adrian to write him a violin concerto; it turns out to be very expensive.
