In the picture you posted, a cowboy is resting his hand on his hip.

Here in America, there is a song and dance that pre-schoolers do called "I'm a little teapot"  and the lyrics go like this:

I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here is my handle (put your hand on your hip)
Here is my spout (raise your other hand in the air)
When I get all steamed up
hear me shout
Tip me over (bend at the hip)
and pour me out.
