I recorded the DDL dedication. do I have to go to you tube and to create a video to post it here?
I 'm such a novice when it comes to this sort of thing.
Jack Twist.
Ennis
Your folks just stopped at Ennis?
Del Mar
Nice to know ya Ennis Del Mar.

And so with that introduction Jack and Ennis are forever bound together like Adam & Eve and Romeo & Juliet.

Whoever finds that on YouTube, be sure to post it here!  I started taping it in the middle of his speech.  8)

roryennis, if you can do that, it would be great.  I'm sure someone will have it up soon.

Jack, I saw the piece on Sunday Morning and taped it.  It was nice, but I wish he hadn't tied Heath in with other stars who had died of drug overdoses.  :(

Wow!  Daniel Day-Lewis is a class act all the way!  Can't believe he dedicates his win to Heath, someone he's never met.  What a touching gesture!

I don't have a television, but I saw this on the web:

From The New York Times Weblog

The Carpetbagger by David Carr

Aiming Point

In the least surprising win of the night, Daniel Day-Lewis was named the best leading actor in a dramatic role. He was halting, smashing and effecting in receiving the award. Instead of merely saying he was humbled, he clearly demonstrated. “It has always been the work of my fellow actors, including my fellow nominees, who have given me a sense of regeneration.”

Heath Ledger gave it to me,” he said. “We wanted to follow him and yet we were afraid to follow him.”

“In Brokeback Mountain, he was unique. He was perfect. The scene in the trailer at the end of the movie was as moving as anything we have ever seen. I‘d like to dedicate this award to him.”

Meryl, I agree with you about how the piece on "Sunday Morning" started out. In fact I started to get mad about it, but when they got past that I was ok. I wish there was some way we could have a tape of all the various good television coverage of Heath. I have missed so much that I would like to see.

It is gestures like Lewis's that lighten the collective load of our sadness because we know that Heath is honored and will not be forgotten.
“Mr. Coyote always gets me good, boy,”  Ellery said, winking.  “Almost forgot what life was like before I got me my own personal coyote.”

Daniel Day Lewis is making up for it.
Heaven bless him for turning his acceptance speech into such a lovely, heartfelt tribute.

thank goodness I recorded the rest of the show - I will go run and rewind!
