Me 'n Jack...we hardly never said no words at all 'bout what went on between us. When we wuz workin' together, just friendly talk is all. If someone wuz ta hear us talk they wouldn't think anything at tall.Then when we' could we'd just...get on with things. Sure glad of that.

Ah know Ah can try 'n try and no matter whut Ah won't be ablin' ta fergit whut happen' last night in the tent, whut Ah did ta Jack. Can't never make it go away.

Seein' it was Jack not sure that Ah'd want to though.

Jack thinking: Sure miss Ennis when he's up there with the sheep at night. Be nice havin' him keepin' me warm in the tent, wouldn't feel lonesome.

 "Somethin' on yer mind there Jack?"

"Naw, nothin' at all."

Ennis thinking: To bad Mr Agguire say one of us has ta stay up with the sheep at night. Wouldn't mnid stayin' here at camp with Jack...Yep, wouldn't mind ah bit.

Ain't nothin' ya could ever say make me wanna leave.....nothin' at all. Don't ya be worrin' none. Ain't nothin' ya can't tell ta me.

Kinda' scart ta walk over ta Jack when I seen him sittin' there, must'a been important ta him riddin' all the way up here to the sheep. Didn't know whut Ah could say. But Ah felt real good after, just sittin' close... real quiet Didn't hav'ta say nothin' more. Sat like that a long time...'n Jack stayed ta ride back ta camp with me.
