From Toronto, where a million people are participating in the parade, I get to watch on TV live.

It's great to be Canadian on Pride Day.

Some people make resolutions on New Years Day: this year, I'm making mine on pride day.

The Episcopal Church publishes a quarterly daily devotional booklet. A single author writes the little readings for each day of a single month, and the booklet includes a short paragraph about each author. It only registered with me a few days ago: The author for June--Gay Pride month--is a gay man who works for the church in Indianapolis.

The paragraph describes him as "husband to Frank and lives with an undisclosed number of cats."   ;D

Here's a bit of news that's kind of bleak and unrelated to Pride, but the day before yesterday it was in the 90s here and someone reported seeing a parked car with 47 cats in it. The car owner had lost his home and was living in the vehicle. Why he had 47 cats was not clear, but he had names for each! They were all OK.

DC Comics has released their latest pride collection.

DC Pride - 2022.

Here is a description of the stories that are in the comic.  Because not everyone is familiar with all of these characters, and may not know the gender or sexuality of the characters, if the description does not make it evident, I'll add that info in parenthesis.

DC Pride 2022 was released on June 14, 2022 and featured a foreword from Nicole Maines. The anthology consisted of the following stories:

"Super Pride": Jon Kent/Superman, a bisexual man, as he, his boyfriend Jay Nakamura and best friend Damian Wayne attend Metropolis Pride and Jon begins to embrace his identity and status as a symbol for both the people of Earth and the LGBT+ community.

"Confessions" : Queen Nubia (an Amazon from the Wonder Woman comics, and a lesbian) reveals to her partner Io, a blacksmith, that the sword she made for her was destroyed in a wrestling match with Giganta rather than in an epic battle.

"Special Delivery" : Newly out hero Tim Drake (Robin from the Batman comics) races to meet up with his new boyfriend Bernard so that they can attend their first Pride together despite being distracted by local criminals.

"Are You Ready for This?": Non-binary Earth-11 speedster Jess Chambers (Kid Quick) tries to prove themself as a hero.

"A World Kept Just For Me": Jackson Hyde/Aquaman struggles to be open with his new boyfriend about his childhood in New Mexico.

"The Gumshoe in Green" : Jo Mullein/Green Lantern (bisexual) investigates a suspicious couple on an alien planet in this neo-noir thriller.

"Think of Me": Connor Hawke (son of DC hero Green Arrow) battles Music Meister while trying to write a letter to his mother explaining his asexuality.

"Public Display of the Electromagnetic Spectrum": The Ray (member of the Justice League) struggles to publicly express his affection towards his boyfriend Xenos.

"The Hunt": Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy (lesbian couple from the Batman comics) face a mysterious foe.

"Bat's in the Cradle": Jacob Kane reflects upon his relationship with his daughter Kate (Batwoman from the Batman comics, a lesbian).

"Up at Bat": Alysia Yeoh (a transgendered woman) is forced into a fight with Killer Moth when a wounded Batgirl approaches her for help.

"Finding Batman" (Kevin Conroy with art by J. Bone and Aditya Bidikar): An autobiographical story where Conroy (an actor and voice actor for cartoons) describes how his portrayal of Batman drew from his painful experiences as a gay man.
