Did you see her scrubbing her hands in the sink after she shook David's hand? She wanted to scrub off the gayness. And the "Aids". >:(

Geez---I'd hate to have had a granny like theirs. She's a poop.

The cousin is cool.

I agree, the cousin is cool and I was glad to see that David came

I didn't pick that up David, but you are exactly right. I was wondering why they were showing her washing her hands so intensely.

Really the time period looks like the late 70s since AIDS came around then and apparently it has just been discovered after he had already moved to Portland. I was thinking that would have put the beginning around '77 or something like that.

Oh no, that was horrible  :'( :'( :'(

The movie started off in 1979, I think. Then it flashed "forward" to the early 80s, Jack. I think Bobby died in 1989. The time of the movie now is in the late 80s.

there's a hand-washing scene like that in "Longtime Companion".   People were so afraid then.

Bobby began his  struggle with being gay in 1979 and took his life four years later in 1983

We have a Metropolitan Community Church here in Indianapolis. It's fairly close to my Dad's house. It looks like quite a big church too. But I'm not interested in going back to church at this point in time. Too much ass kicking from the Catholic church I suppose.
