Ahhh... that chapter was just lovely. I really, really liked the private ceremony. Quick question though, are the boys wearing both rings now? Also really liked the end, perfect combination of sweet romance and very hot suggestion of what was coming later!

Karen

Yes, now they each have two rings: the original "lover's braid" from the craft fair, which they have worn on their right ring fingers for 30 years, and now the new ring, "eternal knot" which they are wearing on the more traditional left ring finger.

Interupted is right! Gaaahh!

SPOILER

Lovely interaction with the boys though. Ennis baulking over the cost of the champers.

Hope you're not going to leave us on this cliffhanger for long. Don't like the idea of Ennis heading out there alone. Then again, he may be about to interupt something private rather than something dangerous. Will there be blushing?

Chapter 16. Lessons Learned

http://lazylfarm.livejournal.com/24141.html

Don't get spoiled, now, expecting them to come this fast, but I knew lots of folks were hanging on tenterhooks wondering what was going on with the truck.

Enjoy...comments and feedback are always welcome!

Anyone want to play with me? I need some thoughts on what Scott looks like.

Now that we know he is going to show up at the party, I need to pin down in my mind what he looks like and how Jack and Ennis wil react to him. Is he drop dead gorgeous? Attractive but nothing special? Nerdy engineer type? Freaking adorable? Cute? A big tall drink of water? All of these have passed through my mind at one time or another. Billy (who I realized I haven't described much at all) is about 5'11", trim, in good shape (from working on the farm), brown hair, brown eyes. He falls into the category of "attractive, but nothing special" but of course, Scott thinks he's perfect. One of Billy's best features is that he has an engaging smile. He also looks young, younger than his 28 years, which is why people think of him as a "kid," still.

Thoughts are welcome. The party is shaping up and you all are invited!

LOL...quintessential American expression, I guess. A big tall drink of water is a real tall, real skinny guy...

Leslie,

How about Scott being a "nerdy engineer type"?  Especially since he'goes to Tech.
Hey, those nerds can be pretty sexy.

After all, we can't all be "gorgeous things". ;)

I'm loving this.

Oh, Paul, you gorgeous thing...

Having gone to college down the hill from RPI, I dated my fair share of nerdy engineer types so I have some memories to draw upon. One guy was 6'10" .... maybe Scott will be that tall. Can't you picture Ennis looking up at that? LOL. And he was a "drink of water," too.

Hey Leslie,

I like it: a 6'10" Scott, quiet but modern, sexy, glasses, pocket-protector.  Someone for Ennis to literally look up to.  Maybe he could be more "out" and comfortable with himself, represent the present/future.
