For my fellow cubicle dwellers...
« on: August 01, 2006, 03:05:49 pm »
David Letterman's Top 10 Drawbacks to Working in a Cubicle

10. Being told to "think outside the box" when you're in a freakin' box all day long.

9. Not being able to check e-mail attachments (or the Jake Jake Jake thread ;)) without turning around to see who's behind you.

8. Cubicle walls do not offer much protection from any kind of gun fire.

7. That nagging feeling that if you press the right button, you'll get a piece of cheese.

6. Lack of roof rafters for the noose.

5. The walls are too close together for the hammock to work right.

4. 23 power cords - 1 outlet.

3. Prison cells are not only bigger, they also have beds.

2. The carpet has been there since 1976 and shows more signs of life than your coworkers.

And the Number 1 drawback to working in a cubicle is...

1. You can't walk out and slam the door when you quit

Barb, have you seen Office Space?
Watch out. That poster has a low startle point.

Barb, have you seen Office Space?

Actually several times.  :)

Well, Bob, I wouldn't exactly say I've been missing it.

I'm blessed to work in an "area," and fortunately for a mere 18 hours per week.  Which feel like more....

I drive a car that looks like a box and drives like a bus and work in an egg shell crate 8-10 hours per day and will eventually suffer from all the radiation from my monitor and that fluorescent lighting.  :P

Oh, God.  Same here.  And it explains a lot in my case, come to think of it.

The only way I've kept my sanity is I have two huge windows & only one cubicle wall (plus a tiny bit of one - just large enough to hang a couple Brokeback pics.  Come to think of it, every available wall whether solid or cloth covered has Brokeback pics... :)  )

lmao!

I work in a cubicle, and I like it.  After over 15 years of customer service face to face with people, being in a cubicle and being left alone is a good thing.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!
