Hey, Chuck.  I actually saw the Protopopovs perform at Harvard several years ago.  They were so graceful.  Boy, have the times changed!  At the same performance, I met Dr. Tenley Albright, the 1956 Olympic champion, and now a surgeon.  She was very gracious.

Since I cancelled my cable about a year ago, I haven't missed TV much at all.  Except right now, though!  I miss the figure skating part of the Olympics.

Unfortunately, the NBC website really sucks.  No live streaming, everything's a day late. I find it very difficult to maneuver, and when I find something, each little video is preceded by a 30 second commercial.  Ugh.

I think I'll visit friends with TVs for the next week or so.

I don't have cable either - gave it up over 3 years ago.

Live feed from CTV is very pro-canadian, but the I've been watching it without interference since the way-overloaded opening ceremonies. http://www.ctvolympics.ca/video/CTV/index.html

They also have comment-less videos of, among other things, the opening ceremony. I was able to (finally) watch it in it's entirety through the 3 hours + video available at the same link.

edit: I didn't find a video for the pairs finals (it may simply not be up yet), but they had one up for the pairs short program.

live feed right now, through the same link (TSN) ... the men's U.S.A. hockey against Switzerland. After 15 minutes of play, the score is still 0 to 0

Edit: Just before the end of the first period, The U.S.A. scored.

You know, it always just boggles me, but I suppose it shouldn't  After having dedicated their lives and pushing themselves through incredible workout routines, grueling schedules and long hours to a sport, why I am surprised that many become doctors?  Getting an MD requires the same sort of monomania and dedication.

Just heard a night or so ago that the famed speed skater Eric Heiden became a doctor.  Silver medalist ice skater Debbie Thomas also became a doctor.

Yup, Johnny Weir is really, really fey.  8)
