Have you all noticed that all three surviving main actors/actresses from Brokeback Mountain are nominated in the best actor/actress categories at the Golden Globes this year?

Jake Gyllenhaal is nominated in the best actor in a comedy or musical category for Love & Other Drugs
Michelle Williams in the  best actress in a drama for Blue Valentine and
Anne Hathaway in the best actress in a musical or comedy for Love & Other Drugs

Congrats!

Excellent!! They've had good training!

I also noticed that The Kids are All Right was nominated for Best Picture!

We went to the movie tonight an saw "The Black Swan"  wow what a trip.  If Natalie
Portman doesn't get a Oscar nom for that movie.  There ain't no justice.
We also saw the preview of the movie that Heath was supposed to star in with
Sean Penn.  Tree of Life.  It looks like its going to be great.  I Know that he would have done
a better job than even Brad Pitt could have done.  I love Brads work, but not as much as Heath of course.

For me, it's very pleasing to see how well the lead actors from Brokeback have done professionally since the making of that movie - at least if you take last night's Golden Globe awards as an indication. Jake was nominated for the best performance by an actor in a comedy or musical for Love and Other Drugs as was Anne Hathaway as best actress for the same movie. (I thought she was terrific). Michelle Williams joined the group with her nomination for best performance in a drama for Blue Valentine. True, none of them actually won but at least all thee of them garnered nominations.

The one name missing, of course, is Heath Ledger. There's no telling how his career might have developed over last three years but my guess would be that he would be up there with the rest of the Brokeback team if indeed not leading the pack.
