Buy Heath Ledger’s ‘Treehouse’ for $3 Million (PHOTOS)

Heath Ledger's "treehouse" is now up for sale -- you finally have some place to drop that $3 million you've been saving up for a rainy day. And lucky you, the house is gorgeous. The two-bedroom, two-bath abode was built in 1951 and has since been remodeled with all the modern amenities (wait until you see the bathroom and kitchen!). Ellen DeGeneres owned the house before Heath bought it from her in 2005 -- he and girlfriend Michelle Williams lived in this otherworldly abode until their split in 2007. The house was then sold to its current owner in 2008 after Heath's death.

But I guess he or she is ready to move on, because the stunning house is on the market again. Get after it, you! Check out the photos first, though.

The house is in Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood hills outside of Los Angeles and has 1,861 square feet of indoor living space and 2,500 square feet of outdoor living space.

Check out the outdoor movie screen!

More outdoor space.

And more.

And more.

A look inside!

I love this stark, modern kitchen.

And this bathroom is to die for. Hopefully the neighbor's house is far away, though. This doesn't leave much room for imagination.

The house is situated in a sycamore grove and is officially listed for $2.995 million. I'm absolutely in love with it. Kinda cursing that $3 mill I blew on trips to Dave & Buster's over the years. I could've bought this house! D'oh. But I guess my 9,000 shower radios are a good consolation prize.

If you could buy this house, would you?

Heath Ledger/Ellen DeGeneres House
Back in Laurel Canyon

by Adrian Glick Kudler

The current owner of this house in Laurel Canyon bought it from Heath Ledger's estate in 2008, but doesn't seem to have ever really taken it to it. After laying out $2.5 million in May of that year, according to an old post on Big Time Listings, the owner partially remodeled and put it back on the market in November 2009, asking $3.695 million. It was pulled from the market in June 2010 and has just been relisted again. (The more cynical among us might guess that this is a failed flip with an extra-depressing celebrity death angle.) For it's return, it's been restaged and has a coy note about its "succession of famous owners"--Ledger bought the house from Ellen DeGeneres in 2005. The house sits in a mature sycamore grove and has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, polished concrete floors, and a glass shower. Asking price now is $2.995 million.

With only two bedrooms, it'd be more like a Brokie hostel.

Hostel??  Banish the thought!    ;D

But with all that indoors and outdoors space, we could easily build more bedrooms.   8)

That would be the biggest down side to me.  I would not like to live next to
the anti-christ, Devil.  There has to be very bad mojo in that region.
Otherwise, I think I could live there and never have to go outside of the
property.  It is like heaven on earth.

I love it.  I think I could live there pretty happily (if I didn't have to worry about paying for it).

And can you believe? The article doesn't even mention Heath.

(Oh well. I do have to say it's a great  house for a 19 year-old.)

‘Hunger Games’ Star Josh Hutcherson
Buys $2.5M Hollywood Hills Mansion —
Take a Peek Inside (PHOTOS)

Josh Hutcherson might be healing from surgery to fix a broken nose, but it looks like he is on the move — literally!

According to Real Estalker, the 19-year-old Hunger Games  actor has snapped up a spacious new home nestled in the Hollywood Hills — and Celebuzz has a peek inside his new modern digs.

Surrounded by plenty of nature, the home not only has a fun nickname, but an interesting history of owners as well.

Josh’s new 1,861 square foot, two bedroom, two bath home has been dubbed The Tree House, “due to its sylvan roost in a thick sycamore grove near the tippy top of Laurel Canyon.” Also, back in 2004, one of the home’s previous owners included talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who just had yet another famous face (Ryan Seacrest) buy her Beverly Hills estate.

What a small world!

(Attempting to add Jason Seacrest or whoever--oh right, Ryan Seacrest,  whatever,
into the previous article for the 'Celebrity Angle'--I mean really.
As IF!!)

Josh Hutcherson is putting his new-found fame into the real estate market. Zillow reports that the "Hunger Games" star bought Heath Ledger's "tree house" (so dubbed by previous owner Ellen DeGeneres because of the dense foliage surrounding the home).

The Hollywood Hills home was purchased by Ledger from DeGeneres in 2005 for just over $2 million. Ledger and Michelle Williams lived their until their split in 2007. After Ledger's death in January 2008, it was sold for $2.5 million and has since been on and off the real estate market.

The most recent listing had the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home at $2.995 million, but there is no word as to what Hutcherson paid for the property. The home is only 1,861 square feet of indoor living space, but does boast over 2,000 square feet of outdoor areas, including a deck with a movie projector and screen (pictured below).
