A purple-first day! I briefly stumbled putting AXE in with weapons, but since there are limited meanings to AXE (maybe also "fire") that pointed me to the other purples.

Which makes me think of a potential good one: AXE, FIRE, CUT, SACK. All of these words have double meanings (besides the one that connects them), which you could use to throw people off with words like FLAME TRIM BAG. Which in turn could be confused with INSULT, DECORATION, PURSE. And so on! Hire me, NYT!  :laugh:

 :laugh: I guessed the purple category first too! Then, I stumbled over MACE, not remembering that it is not only a spice but a medieval weapon. Strangely, I thought one of the categories would be pickle but it was not. Good thing Wordle was easy today or I would be demoralized.
