I can't help but love her though.   A few years ago she spoke at an AMFAR benefit at a prestigious hotel, and when she finished she went to the kitchen and personally thanked the waitstaff.  She's an  , it seems.

Gotta love that.

The latest chapter isn't exactly doing so well at the B.O.  If that's not a clue, what is...

Keep your dignity and find some other project, if that's possible.

Oh, bless.  I can't help but like Sharon Stone.  She's so deliciously barmy.  I mean: avoid rape!  Give a blow job!  That is just mind-implodingly nuts.

The thing about Shazzer is that she's relentlessly, unstoppably full of self-belief.  As a self-doubter, I'm helpless to resist a bit of admiration for her balls.  And for all the certifiably crazy things she's said and done, she'd also raised a number of uncomfortable points about how the Hollywood system seems to treat women of a certain age.

I would point out thought, Shaz, that taking your knickers off and writhing around in your birthday suit probably ain't the best way of advertising that fact.  Just a thought.

And Basic Instinct 3, directed by Sharon Stone?  I won't be seeing 2, but I would watch 3 in a heartbeat.  How could you not?  It'd be like a car crash - you just can't help but look.  And laugh.

If it's anywhere near as "good" as the car crash in the opening sequence of Basic Instinct 2, I'll be there too...

Ugh. I detested Basic Instinct.

I sat in the theatre noting how many times a character navigated his or her way ALL the way across San Francisco to say ONE line to somebody and then say "I have to go."  LOL!  Nonsense...

That said, I think Sharon is one of the all time great faces.  I love looking at her face on the big screen.  Gorgeous.

There's this book I browsed at Borders, by those two geeky guys that get their picture made with every star by crashing every party, and they rate celebrities on accessibility.

Sharon gets a 10 and they say she is the nicest of all of them - warm and patient with fans, always willing to chat if she can and sign whatever is asked.  That's nice...

By contrast, Robin Swilliams gets a -1 ... they say he scans any room he walks in and will only speak to any one there that is higher up the ladder and can further his career.  And is just downright nasty to fans... Silly over-rated man...

Sharon Stone pulls no punches in real life and that's not won her many friends in the business who want to work with her.  Another reason for branching out.  She needs to make her own work since it really ain't coming her way.

She'll be known for who she is and not who she played.

I agree. I like her a lot as a person. She comes off like she doesn't give a shit, and that's admirable. I also don't think she's all bad as an actress. Her turn in If These Walls Could Talk connected with me. I think she has the depth to do really good work, if only they'd come her way.

Starboard,

I'm with you.  Her turn in Casino was really memorable, wasn't it?  Give her some good directors and good roles, and she'll start a new act in her career.
