“Mr. Coyote always gets me good, boy,”  Ellery said, winking.  “Almost forgot what life was like before I got me my own personal coyote.”

David, a question for you.
Your a gay man. Why is it that when a woman, finds out that a man she likes is gay(Paula with Ellery) she considers it to be a "waste"? I dont geddit. ??? Why is Elery being with a guy instead of a gal a waste?

Actually I HAVE heard that very expression said by a few women.   I think they feel that us gay guys are "a waste" because we are off the market to all women.

Two reasons.

One:  They see a guy that they think is "the one" for whatever reason.  Good looks, great sense of humor,  wonderful personality, dresses sharp, decorates with style, well groomed and of course well hung.   ok, I through that last one in.  LOL.        By being Gay, this guy is a waste to them because he is not available to them.  Or as Elaine on Seinfeld used to say: "He plays on the other team".

Two:   The only other reason I can think of is that we as gay men don't perpetuate the continuation of mankind.  Ie: no children.    Which nowadays isn't always the case.

Louise, I have to say that I am really enjoying this story. I like how all the characters that we've grown to know and love pop up. Dupree is certainly the hot topic of conversation isn't he? Being under the spotlight like that must certainly be uncomfortable.

Poor old Jeeves - it was so sad when he described himself as a widower reduced to picking up young men in bars  :(

It looks like Dupree has made his choice, but then, perhaps you have a few more twists up your sleeve?  ;)

Now what’s this about Dupree gettin his clock cleaned – he tell the whole bar?”

“No, the whole bar saw that just-got-fucked-look.”

Ellery gave Lance a critical glance. “Oh, ya mean how you look when you come out a the Gents?”

    ROFLOL!      That made me burst out laughing Louise!

"Jeremy was so easy to rile. Like so many of those straight boys he had met early on, cruising nervously at the out of the way gay bar in Mukilteo, pairing off after one quick dance. They were easily hooked, a few whispered suggestions and they fell like dead pines in a burning forest." *

Looks like Nick has been acting in the past as a bit of a sexual predator, not to put too fine a point on it. Lance seems to recognise his type describing him a shark on the lookout for virgins. Against that we have Nick's sensitive, go slow treatment of Dupree and his declaration of love. An interesting situation Louise!

* Fantastic metaphor!
