NEW   CHAPTER   POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part  6A  (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

“Ennis smiled, pulling Jack closer to his chest, burying his face in the man’s hair yet again, but not before Jack caught the tail-end of Ennis’ expression, a tender-eyed look of raw warmth and undefined affection that shot straight to Jack’s heart, satisfying every inch of his body and soul.”

"The room stank of semen and smoke and sweat and whiskey, of old carpet and sour hay, saddle leather, shit and cheap soap.  Ennis lay spread-eagled, spent and wet, breathing deep, still half tumescent, Jack blowing forceful cigarette clouds like whale spouts..." – Annie Proulx

NEW   CHAPTER   POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part  7A  (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

“Back at camp, Ennis took Jack up on his offer, found the change of clothes in the smallest of the bags, and pulled out the extra shirt. He held it for a moment quietly, the soft flannel fabric feeling warm and inviting between his rough calloused fingers. It was blue and green, large-checked in pattern, and a little worn around the collar and cuffs. It was clean, and yet it smelled of Jack. Ennis breathed deeply for a moment, squeezing the collar lightly with both hands, just barely resisting the urge to bring the borrowed shirt to his face and hold it there for a moment or two, just to breathe in the lingering scent of his friend.”
