Just finished the whole lot....Missing Moments and Pine Creek

I feel absolutely exhausted, but oh what a blissful exhaustion...

Thank you!!

Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection

Hey, C*!

I finally finished both stories and loved every single perfectly-chosen word and truly appreciated all your exquisite descriptive details - the funny, the tender, and the heartbreaking.

The end of Part 4B -

For with that final look, their eyes met, held, and locked, and their souls were laid bare…two vast limitless mirrors facing each other…reflecting the truth, illuminating the certainty, and revealing the reality…that lived in both their hearts.

And in that ultimate moment, before the infinite shuddering finally forced his eyes closed at last, Jack finally understood…fully and completely understood…why Ennis had been so afraid to open his eyes.

-- wow.  You are one talented writer - thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.

Looking forward to "Warmest Week of the Year" - love that title, too!

Thanks again -

Marie

I too loved your story, and am so glad you are here,, and also enjoy your
participation in the fanfic drabble thread.  I have loved trying something new, and seeing those that have been writing for a while participating..
Will read your sequel as well, and i will leave you some response as well.

Janice,

Thank you, sweetie.   :)
Writing the drabbles was great fun.
First time I've written BBM drabbles.
I usually have trouble writing anything short.   lol    ;)
I'll try to jump in the next one as well.
RL deadlines have kept me really busy the last two weeks.   :)
But I'll still be posting a new story on Thursday.    :)

Thanks again, sweetie.

Warmest Week of the Year (Sequel to "Pine Creek")
« Reply #37 on: February 09, 2007, 04:05:44 am »

Warmest Week of the Year –  (Sequel to “Pine Creek”) (Complete)

“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek.”
This tale is another one of my canon-based  ‘missing moments’ stories
taking place in May 1968. It is the account of the first fishing trip
after the initial reunion takes place in September 1967.

Hey, C

I just finished Part 1 of "Warmest Week of the Year" - it was simply wonderful - can't praise it enough.

Loved how you framed it for us - the hour-by-hour parallels of the two loving daddies - and all the while those postcards next to their hearts and thoughts of each other in their minds.  Ahh . . . sweet anticipation.

Thanks again - you have a true gift.

Warmest Week of the Year - Parts 2A & 2B

NEW   CHAPTERS   POSTING

Warmest Week of the Year – Parts 2A & 2B  (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

This story is another one of my canon ‘add-ins.’
“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek,” in May 1968.

This chapter is one long flashback to Brokeback
for our boys, focusing on the first week after FNIT.
I wanted to explore the possibilities of how things could have
developed for J & E, and also establish a precedent for
showing emotional growth over time.
That is why the entire chapter is in italics,
with the exception of the final four paragraphs,
where we finally see who is having the flashback and why.

Part 2A:

Part 2B:

Thank you!
