THANK YOU for the lovely birthday greetings!! This is coming belatedly, as this last week has been a marathon of tech rehearsals for our opening of Britten's "The Turn of the Screw" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and sleep became all-important to survive. But we open tomorrow, and at last I have a night off.
Though my birthday had rehearsals from morning til night, I managed a really nice birthday dinner just across the street from the theater at a German restaurant called Berlyn: scrumptious vegetable strudel, a glass of perfect Riesling and chocolate almond cake with ice cream did the trick!
