Though I'm not usually a great fan of pop music, "Let there be love" by Oasis, is one of those songs/tunes that always makes me think of  Brokeback Mountain:

Let There Be Love Lyrics
Artist(Band):Oasis

Let There Be Love Lyrics
Who kicked a hole in the sky so the heavens would cry over me?
Who stole the soul from the sun in a world come undone at the seams?

Let there be love
Let there be love
Let there be love
Let there be love

Come on Baby Blue
Shake up your tired eyes
The world is waiting for you
May all your dreaming fill the empty sky
But if it makes you happy
Keep on clapping
Just remember Ill be by your side
And if you dont let go its gonna pass you by

Who kicked a hole in the sky so the heavens would cry over me?
Who stole the soul from the sun in a world come undone at the seams?

Let there be love
Let there be love
Let there be love
Let there be love
They were two friends of mine

I know I always say this whenever someone asks me, but "Goodbye my Lover" always makes me think of Brokeback. Although I have an overwhelming need to punch James Blunt in the face,I somehow get past that need so I can enjoy this song. This is the only song of his I like.

Goodbye My Lover- James Blunt

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer but when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.(all of them work accept this one)
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bear my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

Hey, Becky, someone actually sent me a youtube video of a montage of BBM with this very song playing along... I thought it fitted completely.
" - I'm vegan now."
"-Vegan? I thought you were still Church of England"

I know I had been beging people for ages to make one and they finally did! I knew it would fit straight away cause I had been listening to it the morning of my first BBM viewing and I still had it in my head. When it came to the very end of the film this song just popped into my head. It only hit me a couple of later and I couldn't stop crying, believe me the sobbing was unbareable. :'(

Watch the Youtube here:

I also like this one, It doesn't really have the meaning in it that "My Lover" does, but it is still a good song:

Colorblind- Counting Crows:

I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready

I am taffy stuck and tongue tied
Stutter shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready I am fine

I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded and unfolded and unfolding
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready I am fine

You can download it here to listen to:

Bex, I agree with everything in this post (except I also like High but everything else I cannot stand!!)

Isabelle, that video is actually what made me like the song. I hated it before. First time I heard it, I actually fell asleep. But when I watched that video, it put it into a WHOLE new light and since then I've had a strange love for it.
I've learnt that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in!

Becky, I don't think I can love you more than I do right now!!! That was another one of the songs on my playlist. I LOVE (LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) this song, and it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful and is completely fitting for BBM.

*lots of "o"s in that*

I have been obsessed with that song ever since I saw Cruel Intentions, I love it! If I do end up making a Brokeback C.D that will definitley be going on there!

Colourblind makes me cry everytime I listen to it (and that's a lot). It's just so amazingly powerful, so haunting and beautiful. Love, love, love it!! *puts on Cruel Intentions CD*

OK, it's not a song, but I have just dug up this part of a poem by the author of "Leaves of Grass", Walt Whitman, which makes me think of E&J (from Jack, after they part at the end of their Brokeback time?):

"I ate with you, and slept with you,
Your body has become
Not yours only
Nor has it left my body
Mine only.
I am to wait, I do not doubt that I am to meet you again.
I am to see to it that I do not lose you."
