Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!
I'm on my last "stay-cation" of the year.
Spent the weekend and yesterday baking cookies, and decorating them. The first batch to give away goes to the bowling league tonight.
So, I learned something today.
The Christmas cards I mailed out going the farthest away were returned the end of last week. There were no marks on them, but they were all banded together with a note on them.
Apparently, because my card and envelopes were square shaped, they are not able to go through the postage machines, and therefore have to be handled by hand. This means there's an extra charge for this.
So I went to the post office, and they sold me postcard stamps, and I added them to the envelopes, so they should be delivered now.
::)
Front-Ranger:
Good grief! I've never heard of such a thing. The manufacturers of the cards should have known and, at the very lest, put a little warning on the envelope saying "Extra postage required"!
Sason:
Apparently the American post is not consistent with its own rules.
My card arrived today, as square as they come. No extra fee needed.
Thank you so much, Chuck! :-* :-*

I remember buying individual cards in the past that had a notice on the envelope where the postage stamp would go that the card would require extra postage, but that was years ago.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!
How is everyone doing??
So my "stay-cation" is coming to an end, back to work tomorrow! I did manage to get a lot done.
Monday I decorated the cookies that I needed to take to the bowling league.
Tuesday I had my year-end doctor appointment. It went very well. I had been eating better, so my weight dropped, my blood pressure was normal, my AC1 was normal, and my cholesterol was normal! Tuesday night was the penultimate night for the season, and I gave out my holiday cookies.
Wednesday I finished my cookies that were going to the office party, and did the final count and dividing of the cookies with mom so she had her batch to give away to friends.
Thursday was the office Christmas party, the last day in the office for me. After the luncheon and dessert, a coworker and I took wrapped gifts that everyone had donated to a homeless organization. We had toys for the kids, and pajamas, slippers and gift cards for the adults. Speaking of gift cards, the team I work for all year gave me a gift card for $500.00! :o I'll be using it to get stuff that I need, but always put off buying. New bathmat, shower curtain liner, anti-slip mat for inside the tub, new sheets, comforter and pillows, and some other things.
Friday was a day staying home and relaxing. I did go out with family in the evening, a video will be posted below.
Saturday I met with a friend for dinner, and then we drove around for a few hours looking at Christmas lights.
today I got groceries, and cleaned the apartment, and finished up my Christmas cards, they'll be dropped off at the post office tomorrow.
Regarding being with the family on Friday, we went through a ride-through light attraction, mom and dad had been talking about it. The video is of the place is below. There were shorter ones, but they were sped up to make them shorter, and they got very annoying. this one is in normal speed, so you just need to see a few minutes of it to get the idea.
