Oh yes, I sure did, Kelda.  I can't really explain how it felt to be in the theater and hear our words put out in that manner.  It was very cool.



Today's travel destination:

Oxford University, Oxfordshire, England.

Although the city of Oxford predates the University, which began around 1167, it s the university that gives the town its identity and character.  Its thirty-six colleges create a skyline of tall towers, pinnacles and spires, making this a visually fascinating city, excellant for walking.

BayCityJohn posted on YouTube a video of part of the "Beyond Brokeback" program at Chicago this past weekend.

I watched it last night, and my mom joined me, she thought it was really well done.

The full program was:

A viewing of the movie from 2:00 - 4:15. 
A question & answer period from 4:30 - 5:30.
Presentation of "Beyond Brokeback, which was a mix of music from the CD "Meet Me On The Mountain" as well as readings from the book "Beyond Brokeback - The Impact of a Film".  This clip is about 25 minutes long and includes a brief intro from the emcee, a reading of an intro from Dave Cullen, owner of DCF, the song "Meet Me On The Mountain", and readings from the book.

Yaaaaaaaaaaay!  It's Friday and payday!!!  Anyone have cool plans for the weekend?

I am meeting friends tomorrow night at a local pub, but other than that, it should be quiet.

Lourdes, Midi-Pyrénées, France.

Despite dormitory-like hotels and dawdry souvenir stands selling wind-up virgins and glow-in-the-dark dashbard statues, Lourdes and the legions of pilgrims it attracts can be a moving experience.  Visitors come for the water of the spring of St. Bernadette, which they believe to have miraculous healing powers.
