Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well!  :)

Holiday weekend for me, Friday was a day off for Juneteenth.  ;D  Always nice to have the extra day.

Had lunch with the family yesterday, and my brother Mike came down for an early Father's day lunch with dad.  I went back to see them today, and after lunch helped them put together a bread box that mom ordered from Amazon.

Over all, things have been quiet here, the status quo, which is fine by me!  :)

Sounds like a fun weekend, Chuck!

Some friends in my building and I have created the custom of going to Dairy Queen on (or close to) holidays. So yesterday we celebrated Juneteenth, Pride Month, Father's Day and the solstice.

You'd think for all those celebrations at once we'd need large Blizzards! But I got my usual small Blizzard with mocha ice cream and Heath-bar (Brokieism alert!) pieces. (Shown upside down below, for those who don't know, because they always tip a Blizzard upside down when they serve it to show that it's thick enough not to spill.)

Yesterday my grandson, Offline Chuck and I went to DQ. Grandson had a Blizzard and Chuck and I had sundaes. They had been helping me take slash to the monthly clean-up day. The slash was loaded in Chuck's truck (the Faux Truck) and all the gals came up to complement us on the cool truck. Bonus was I get to write off the cost of the ice cream!

What's slash? Cut-down plants, maybe? And why was the ice cream deductible?

Yes. Before fan fiction, slash was yard clippings greater than just grass or leaves. And the ice cream was deductible because my grandsons were my hired help.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

Did everyone have a good holiday weekend??

I stayed home this weekend, after the past week of 100+ degree days, I just wanted to stay cool and relax.  I had to work Friday, but a lot of customers were closed for the holiday, so I had almost no emails to deal with.

My worker is on PTO for the next three days (coming back on Thursday) so I have to cover her clients until then.  I'm hoping they behave themselves and it's a quiet few days.

what is everyone else up to??

I'm finally almost with you in disliking heat! It hasn't gotten to 100+ here yet (though is forecast to in a week) but it's been high 80s a lot. Yesterday I picnicked with friends in 88-degree heat. A bit much! Overnight lows have been in the high 70s. I like to walk for exercise but I draw the line when it gets over 80. I have my thermometer set at 77 and I face west, so the AC hasn't gone on yet today, but it will this afternoon.

Still, I shouldn't complain. I complain all winter and try to take summers off.
