Oh no, now I can't sleep because of these pics! People who do this to animals should suffer through the same things they did to the poor creatures and then be shot.

Sorry about that Melissa.  :(  Our televisions over here have been flooded with such images recently. It makes me sick every time I see one of them.

That is absolutely monstrous. I am strongly opposed to the death penalty, but I think someone guilty of that should be given the harshest possible sentence short of execution. Accounts like this make me ashamed and sad to be a human being.

I'm very opposed to the death penalty too Scott. I always have been. I consider it "cruel and unusual punishment". It's a shame Michael Vick doesn't feel the same way we do. And obviously I don't think Michael Vick should receive the death penalty. The death penalty is ALWAYS cruel and wrong and it should be abolished.

It's a shame my home state of Indiana practices it. Thank God Indiana discontinued the electric chair a few years ago, although lethal injection is also very cruel.

But I DO hope they lock Michael Vick up in prison and throw away the key. If found guilty he deserves to be punished for what he did, and so do his so called friends.  >:(

Okay. I admit I've been goofing around on youtube too much these past few days. And normally I don't even watch any videos over 2 minutes because they take so long to load into my computer with my dial-up connection. But I just found some wonderful clips from the movie "Breaking Away". For those of you who have never seen or heard of this movie before, it was made in 1979 and is considered a classic. The movie was filmed entirely on location in Indiana and it centers around a group of local kids living in Bloomington and the conficts they have with the wealthy students attending Indiana University which is located in their town.

This first clip is the opening scene from the movie and features a very sexy Dennis Quaid! It is about 4 1/2 minutes long.

This next clip is of the famous bike scene in which Dave races a semi trailer truck down the highway. He just found out the Italians are coming and so he begins practicing for the big bike race. Dave has become so infatuated with the Italians he has even started faking an Italian accent and driving his friends and family nuts. This is one of the most memorable scenes from the movie, and I can't believe I found it on youtube!  :D

This clip is about 5 minutes in length.

Wow! I'm so happy for you that you found these clips, they are so cute! So is Dennis Quaid!

Breaking Away in the title refers to breaking away from the cycle group, what we call demareren?

I have no idea why they call it Breaking Away, Melissa. I've seen the movie three or four times and I still don't know. I think maybe they call it that because the boys are so desperate to "break away" from their life in Bloomington as the sons of "Cutters". But it could be because Dave breaks away from the cycle group after he is disappointed by the Italian team.

Maybe I can find a clip of that scene on youtube. If I do, I'll post it so you can see it. So far I've only found two scenes from the move. I'll go look again!  :D

Okay. I just found another clip. I haven't watched it yet (I'm on dial-up  :P ) but according to the caption on youtube, this is the scene with the Italians.

Please let me know if this is the right one, because it will probably be another 29 days before I can see it!

Okay, I exaggerated a LITTLE bit. It won't take 29 days. Not really.

23 days maybe.  ;)

I think I'm having a little too much fun with youtube! I had no idea people posted clips from movies on there! It's like a treasure trove!  :D

I just found a clip from another good movie! This is the opening scene from "Hoosiers" (1986), another movie filmed entirely on location in Indiana. Gene Hackman and Barbara Hershey star in it. My sister and brother in law, along with a few of my friends were part of the crowd in the final scene of the movie at Butler Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. I'll see if I can find a clip of that scene on youtube.  :D

Actually I posted this clip for Melissa because I've been telling her so much about this movie, but all of you are welcome to watch it!  ;)

This clip is just under 4 minutes.

I think Kelda wants me to tell her all about Alex!  8)

Well Kelda, Alex and two of his friends are flying in from London this Friday. His friends will stay for about a week (or a week and a half, I can't remember for certain) and then they will go back to England and Sweet Baby will stay here through Labor Day!  :D

Apparently his friends had so much fun here the last time they wanted to come back!! It's pretty much the exact same trip the three of them made to Indiana in May. I'm hoping the weather will cool down before they get here though. They are forecasting temperatures in the upper 90's and lower 100's F this week. It was hot the last time they were here and they didn't appreciate the heat very much. This time it's supposed to be even hotter. Thank God I have air conditioning in my house. Hoosiers don't pay too much attention to the heat. I guess we get used to it, but people from England don't seem to like it very much!  :D

I'm still trying to figure out some things to do while they are here. I would like to take them to King's Island in Cincinnati or Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville (both about a 2 hour drive from here) but maybe this wouldn't be such a good idea if it will be hot outside. I may take them to Lake Wawasee up in northern Indiana for a few days. I hope I figure something out soon because they will be here in 5 days! YEAAAAAA!!!!!  :D
