I know that one a the reasons my mom hated cooking was ... deciding what to do every day. And with 8 kids in the house, there was always at least one person who did not like what was being offered. So, she had to make 2 diff'rent meals each time - then there was my father's heart attack - no more salt/spices (flavour) ... and the shifts - I went to high school in the morning (finished around 1:00 PM and my younger sibblings finished school at around 7:00 PM)

Cooking meals became a real unpleasant chore for her.
