This is actually a link to where the main link is in the DC Forum, but it was easier here to find this one.

I was in Alberta the first week in June. Wonderful place.

Yeah, Jess, I wish I had been able to get Earl to go with me, to give him a big kiss there and to do all kinds of good stuff at the second campsite!

Thanks - I'll be sure to look through that tomorrow. I still haven't prepared an itinerary for my Alberta trip (I hate having to plan!  :P )

I expect that handrail would hurt when you get slammed up against there!!  :o

I am assuming there is gonna be more than one reenactment there!!

(there and at the second camp site!   ) hope they don't scare the horses!

You SHOULDA got Earl up there...maybe next year. I can't imagine this will be the only trip Brokies make up there.

and I love that sign...obviously they have had a lot of people coming there..

How did you get to the campsites? Did you hike, drive? were they hard to find?

I can just imagine the lineup of people preparing to do various reenactments at both sites!

Hard enough to get Earl to travel out of Virginia/West Virginia, much less all the way to Alberta!

I used findingbrokeback.com , which gives excellent directions in finding things. I drove, and most of the sites were very close to the roads or within 1 km of them. The only longer hike I took was 11km to the first campsite and where various sheep shots were filmed. There was another 14 km hike up Moose Mountain to some of the high meadow locations, but I lacked time, energy and clement weather to take that walk.

oh well that doesn't sound so bad...from some of the stuff I have been reading around here I thought there was gonna be some boot camp type marches to get to them!

No, not at all. And many of the people going up Moose Mountain will be on horseback. That's something I would love to do, but with other people and not by myself.
